The danish trumpet player and vocalist Peter Marott was born in 1981. At the age of 7 he was fascinated by the trumpet and has since taken it far. After High School he joined, as the youngest member ever, the bigband of legendary pianist and organizer Niels Jørgen Steen, which lead to several commitments in the best bigbands in Denmark, among others the Tivoli Bigband, Danish Radio Bigband, Erling Kroner New Music Orchestra, Niels Jørgen Steens’s A-team a.o.
Peter has always had a predilection for the New Orleans music in all its forms, though it has not kept him from working with other styles. Be it Hip-hop, tango, electronica, brasil ao. He has among others worked with the danish Hip hop -legend MC Einar and the electronica artist Mike Sheridan and recently he arranged horns and recorded for the Los Angeles based singer Georgia Muldrow. But as Louis Armstrong said “There is two kinds of music, the good, and the bad. I play the good kind”, a motto Peter lives by.
He has been the conductor for numerous orchestras, among those the Copenhagen Jazzhouse house band SWINGHOUSE ORCHESTRA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49v4W-ofDK0), where his abilities as a leader & arranger could be heard also. During his time at the Rythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen he was a co-initiator of the popular neo-New Orleans band Six City Stompers (www.sixcitystompers.dk), where he is a industrious composer and arranger of the bands music.
